The County Council Team Leader responsible for direction signs has now looked at the location of the Hyde Square shops. Although he is not willing to agree to signing all the way from the A283, he does consider there is a sustainable case for local private signing from the High Street/Hyde Lane junction where additional local direction to the shops is required. This would be in accordance with the County Council’s existing signing policy.

The County Council will therefore be working on a detailed signing proposal after Easter, and will forward a quotation for the provision of suitable private signs (subject to local consultation agreement) to the Upper Beeding shop owners.

Derek Deedman will be consulted as part of the process prior to official agreement being given to provide any approved signs.
