The next meeting of the Chanctonbury CLC has been brought forward to Monday, 6 June at the Steyning Centre, Steyning.
The Minerals Plan is on the agenda to be discussed at 8pm, but the meeting starts at 7pm, so with a large number of local people expected to attend to make their views known about the proposal to extract soft sand at the Ham Farm site just outside Steyning on the A283 and right next to the South Downs National Park, Steyning residents are advised to get to the meeting soon after at 7pm to ensure they get a seat.
The four County Councillors (representing Bramber Castle, Henfield, Pulborough & Storrington) on the CLC will expected to give their views on this proposed site in the Mineral Plan, which is opposed by so many local people. With the public consultation on the Plan due to end on 17 June, convincing the four county councillors to oppose the inclusion of the Ham Farm site in the Plan is vital if the site is to be reconsidered at this late stage.
See previous articles on the website for more information about the proposed site and why it should be opposed.
