The County Council meeting starts at 10.30am and will be on the webcam as usual. Access via the County Council website.
There will be an address by the Cabinet Member for Finance & Resources on the budget process for 2013/14.
A written copy the position statement has already been issued. The Lib Dem Group is currently considering the questions members will ask to discover further information on some of the comments in the statement.
A reference is made in the statement to the savings being made and planned by the Conservatives which, it is claimed, total to over £120m under the current administartion– delivering significant steps forward in efficiency. I am sure that the savings on the social care eligibilty criteria, which has cut out many vulnerable people (including those with learning disabilities), cuts in bus services which have isolated those older and young people without access to a car, the cuts in the youth services which are leaving young people most in need of support and advice in many parts of the County without that support, and those users of other front line services which have been reduced would not call them efficiency savings!Leave a comment
